Drum Healing Coaching Sessions

Frame Drumming & betrayed partners

Hello! Are you looking for a new modality of healing?

Are you looking for self-care ideas?

Have you tried other things to help support with your triggers?

Are you open to new ideas to help support your nervous system?

You may be interested in trying out the Frame Drum. Drumming has proven to be very beneficial over the centuries when it comes to trauma healing. The best part about general drumming is that you do not need anything fancy to start. Once you are ready to start with the frame drum, they are lifelong instruments that range from $20-$100. You don’t need to know anything about the frame drum to learn to play! You can also use an Amazon box, if you need to! This is for betrayed women who have never played the drum, or any betrayed partners who are experts! EVERY level is welcomed! I am no expert at this instrument and am a new student myself! This drum has truly inspired me. I recognized that the mental benefits from drumming NEEDED to be shared!

The history of frame drumming is powerful. The timeline leads to say that this was the first instrument created, and that the main people that played it were women! Layne Redmon’s book “When the drummers were women” really sheds light on this incredible story. How empowering! You belong, you are not alone, and you deserve to feel empowered. Please reach out with any questions about drum healing coaching sessions.

Drumming isn’t just fun – it’s a powerhouse for your health! Here’s why:

Zaps Stress & Anxiety: Get your zen on! Drumming lowers cortisol and amps up those feel-good endorphins, leaving you relaxed and happy.

Boosts Your Immune System: Drum your way to better health. It ramps up your body's natural defenses, helping you fight off those nasty bugs.

Supercharges Your Brain: Juggling rhythms sharpens your mind. Better focus, memory, and problem-solving? Yes, please!

Eases Chronic Pain: Beat the pain! Drumming distracts and releases endorphins, acting like a natural painkiller.

Lifts Your Mood: Express yourself and let those emotions flow. Drumming boosts your self-esteem and makes you feel amazing.

-An article posted by Seabrook.org also adds:

"Muller, a psychology professor at York University and author of the book, Trauma and the Struggle to Open Up, believes that drumming, often combined with group therapy, allows for “creative and non-judgmental expression of emotions.” For many people, sharing a circle and a beat with other people releases somatic tension often associated with PTSD, trauma, and mental health issues.

For years, scientific researchers have uncovered the positive effects of drumming. For example, a 2018 study determined that the process helped people with mental health issues and their caregivers. The results indicated that “emotional, psychological, and social dimensions of well-being emerged for both patients and carers, accounted for through six themes.” We list those verbatim:

  1. Hedonia: positive affect and pleasant physical effects of drumming.

  2. Agency: initiative and sense of control.

  3. Accomplishment: non-specific and in relation to musical goals.

  4. Engagement, through focus and flow.

  5. A redefinition of self, through self-awareness, construction of a positive identity, self-prospection, and incorporation of a musical identity.

  6. Social well-being, through connectedness and positive relationships.

Picking out your drum!

I recommend the smallest size purchased to be a 12” framed drum. The 8 and 10” can be harder to get sounds from, but does work also. Many purchase their drums by the company named Remo. There are many different sounds and the drums come already pre-tuned, so stress on changing the sounds or anything. Remo has two types of “skins,” the fiberskin and the renaissance feel. The Renaissance frame drum is a deeper sound and sounds best with at least a 16.” West music has great prices: click here.
